Liz Muller

Starbucks Coffee Company
Liz Muller joined the Starbucks Design Studio in 2007. In her role as Vice President Creative & Global Design she spearheaded the development of new store design concepts to realize Starbucks goal of introducing unique store concepts centered on local relevance and environmental responsibility. She has been instrumental in restructuring the design department to reflect the world class design sensibilities that are necessary to achieve these goals. When developing new stores, Liz works with various teams of local artists, trades and craftsmen to produce unique and environmentally responsible new store design concepts around the world.
Prior to joining Starbucks Liz owned her own design firm, Liz Muller Design, with offices in Capetown and Johannesburg, South Africa. When she moved to the US, she founded and operated two award winning retail design studios, Avisia and Orangetwice. Liz worked with clients around the globe including Polo, De Beers, PriceWaterHouseCoopers and many more. She won numerous international design awards.
Liz was born in The Netherlands and earned a degree in retail design. She began her career at Stuttafords Specialty Department Stores in South Africa where she became Vice President of Architecture and design prior to starting her own company.
Throughout her career she has traveled all around the globe developing a vast understanding of trends, the creative process and their relevance to the people they touch. Liz is passionate about all things creative and design related, and how they interact with the humanity.
When not working, she enjoys dinner parties with friends, listening to music, time on the water with her boat and an occasional cigar.
Jeffrey Donaldson

Jeff Donaldson serves as GameStop’s Senior Vice President of GameStop Technology Institute.

Donaldson, who previously served as GameStop’s CIO, has been an integral member of GameStop’s leadership team for more than 14 years.  Jeff played a key role in the creation of GTI, and GameStop’s new IT structure introduced in 2013. The new structure includes four strategic areas – IT Strategy, Architecture Design, IT Delivery and the GameStop Technology Institute. Each area is designed to accelerate the identification and adoption of new capabilities and solutions to address the ever-changing IT challenges impacting business today.

Following GameStop’s acquisition of Electronics Boutique in 2005, Donaldson led the effort to integrate the EB and GameStop technology systems into a single platform.   Before coming to GameStop, Donaldson was vice president of information resource management at The Associates.  Prior to that, he held progressive management positions with AMR Corporation/The SABRE Group, Texas Instruments, and the Illinois State Government’s technology team.

Dr. Nadia Shouraboura is the CEO of Hointer. Hointer is reinventing the shopping experience, making it easy and fun. At Hointer men and women have a new way of discovering, trying-on and buying great clothing.

Nadia was born in Soviet Russia and pursued her education in mathematics and science in the city of Moscow. In 1987 she began her career, after emigrating from Russia to Israel, as a software developer working on Computer Aided Design systems for industrial robotics. Her work attracted the attention of professors at Princeton University in the US, where she was offered a full scholarship for study and research. During her PhD work, Nadia performed research at AT&T Bell Labs and co-founded Starlight Multimedia, a developer of multi-media applications. Her work at Princeton resulted in several important papers, referenced by over 200 publications. She received a PhD in Mathematics from Princeton. In 1994 Nadia joined a technology startup, Diamond Technology Partners, working with a variety of major retail companies. Later she joined a JP Morgan Venture startup, Mobilocity, as its Managing Director in charge of the wireless division. Following her leadership role at Mobilocity, Nadia became a pioneer in the emerging world of energy trading, joining Exelon as the manager responsible for the energy trading algorithms and software.

Nadia joined Amazon.com in March of 2004. As Technology Vice President of Amazon’s Worldwide Operations she owned technology powering Amazon’s global supply chain and fulfillment. Nadia also served on Jeff Bezos' senior leadership team responsible for overall direction and operations of Amazon. Nadia lives in Seattle with her husband and sixteen year-old daughter.

Kristoffer Reiter

Kristoffer Reiter is the Director of Visual Operations and Store Experience for Brooks Brothers. He joined the global retailer in May 2014 as part of an organic transformation to incorporate the legacy of the 197-year-old brand into the customer’s expectation of a modern experience today. In his role, Kristoffer incorporates business strategy into visual merchandising and display techniques for everything a customer sees – product, props, signs, and furniture. The first expression of this new approach will be in the new World Trade Center opening in Spring 2016. Kristoffer came to United States from Sweden in the 1990s to lead the North American expansion of IKEA and then H&M.

Jonathan Storey serves as Vice President of Store Experience for Disney Store North America where he is responsible for oversight of Store Operations and Store Experience. Charged with defining and creating Disney Store’s Guest Service strategy, Jonathan and his team drive consistency in all Guest-focused programs and develop a portfolio of Guest experiences and rituals that are executed in Stores nationwide on a daily basis.

A Disney Store veteran, Jonathan began his Disney career in 1992 as an Assistant Store Manager in Bristol, UK, followed by his promotion to Store Manager.  From there he joined Disney Store Europe’s Home Base team, playing key roles on the Store Operations team.  By 2002 he was leading the European Operations team, which continued through 2008. During this time, he and his team launched training programs and facilitated numerous District and Store Manager conferences. He also led the Guest Relations, Store Training, and Store Communications team while acting as the Operations liaison with all Home Base departments.

In 2008, Jonathan expanded his Disney Store portfolio when he was named Director, Marketing and Guest Experience. He and his team created multi-channel marketing and public relations campaigns and in-Store media content. Prior to Disney, Jonathan held various roles with several European retailers.

Jonathan is also a proud recipient of Disney Store’s prestigious Disney Spirit Award.

Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, Lindsay joins us from the world of Strategy and Innovation, spending the last three years helping to grow lululemon’s Strategy team. Lindsay discovered her passion for business and retail early on, starting up her own apparel venture at young age. Since then, her entrepreneurial spirit has led her to the angel investment arena, growing early-stage companies alongside ambitious founders with big ideas.

A lifelong love for sport transported Lindsay bi-coastal, to play NCAA Division 1 volleyball for George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, and later, to take on a role with the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Committee. A dual citizen of the US and Canada, what ultimately drew Lindsay back to Vancouver was an appetite to pursue an MBA in Management of Technology. On the weekend, she can be found breaking out moves on the b-ball court, the studio, and with her 3-year old nephew to the tune of Pharrell.

Kevin Ertell is Senior Vice President of Digital at Sur La Table, where he is  responsible for ensuring the company’s digital business delivers a top notch  experience to its customers and its staff alike. Ertell has worked  exclusively in retail for more than 29 years, and has focused his expertise  on e-commerce since 1997. He was Senior Vice President and Managing Director  of TowerRecords.com and subsequently served as Senior Vice President of E- Business with Borders, where he re-launched Borders.com as an e-commerce site  and led the team that built Borders Rewards. More recently he was Vice  President of Retail Strategy at ForeSee Results, where he collaborated with  the product, delivery, client services and marketing teams to maximize the  company's value to more than 100 top retailers and Chief Marketing Officer at  OnlineShoes.com, where he was responsible for the e-commerce storefront and  all marketing efforts.  A well-known and respected figure in the online retail industry, Ertell is  regularly called upon to share his knowledge. From March 2012 through November 2013, Mr. Legwinski served as Director of Marketing and eCommerce at Cycle Gear, a specialty apparel retailer. Previously, Mr. Legwinski served as the Director of Marketing at Extole from July 2011 to March 2012. Prior to that, he had served as the Director of eCommerce at Hallmark Cards from June 2010 to July 2011. Earlier, Mr. Legwinski had worked with Strands Labs from 2006 to 2010. Specific projects include a complete Wi-Fi refresh, major WAN upgrades and deploying 8000+ Apple iOS devices to Neiman Marcus sales associates.

Rick Castanho focuses on Customer Experience Architecture & Engagement for Lowe’s Home Improvement.  He has spent the last 5 plus years with Lowe’s designing and implementing customer experiences while cultivating a customer-focused approach to experience design within Lowe’s. As Intent Architect for MyLowe’s, Rick was instrumental in the strategy, design, and rollout of Lowe’s customer facing digital environment in 2011.  He also served as Intent Architect for Product Locator, an in-store product finding feature integrated into Lowe’s consumer & associate facing mobile applications released in 2013.  He is currently leading efforts to align and activate Customer Experience Strategy and Design into great omni-channel customer experiences.  Rick is very passionate about the emerging fusion of the Digital and Physical worlds as a platform on which to evolve the Home Improvement shopping experience for Lowe’s customers and to deliver to them great experiences time and time again.

Prior to Lowe’s, Rick most recently was Director of Global User Experience at Monster.com. While there he led the development of a global UX discipline responsible for the redesign and launch of their customer facing website in 2009, which achieved a Webby Award.  Rick has had extensive experience working with startups and as well as established leaders in designing digital and multi-channel experiences across a number of industries, including government, advertising, recruiting, financial services, news & media, and software.

Rick is innovative, strategic, and very focused on creating great customer experiences. He thrives on uncovering disruptive models that change the way customers shop and experience their world. Rick earned Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UMASS, Dartmouth.

Jim leads the development of Alliance’s mobile strategy, helping our retail clients market their card and loyalty programs via mobile channels. Jim is responsible for retail client engagement in planning and implementing mobile solutions, and recently launched Alliances SMS marketing capabilities. Our SMS platform not only provides core messaging capabilities to Alliance accountholders, but is also used by several of our retail clients for all of their mobile messaging needs.
   
Jim has an extensive history in the mobile industry. In the 80s and 90s he built and operated cellular systems for AT&T Wireless; he was a founder and Senior VP at Geotek, Inc., where he was responsible for rolling out the country’s first true high-speed wireless data network. Jim later was a founder and President of Iridium North America, the first truly global satellite telephone service.

He’s one of the world’s leading thought leaders on improving business performance in the food service, hospitality and retail industries. Marty has more than 20 years of experience in high technology finance management. Prior to Steton, he was finance director for Apple’s Asia Pacific operation, based in Singapore. He also held numerous accounting management roles for IBM, Sequent Computer Systems and Tektronix. Marty holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Brigham Young University.

Sonia Sahney Nagar is the Vice President, Product at RetailMeNot. Prior to RetailMeNot she was the co-founder & CEO of Pickie, a venture-backed tablet shopping app that was acquired by RetailMeNot. Sonia started her career as an engineer in General Motors' Advanced Engineering group, and has previously worked at Booz & Co., Goldman Sachs and Amazon. She has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a MBA from Harvard Business School.

Damian Roskill

As VP of marketing, Damian Roskill is responsible for growing and refining the Applause brand, expanding the customer base and serving as the tactical leader of the company's marketing initiatives. In this role, Damian aligns marketing's goals with that of other departments to ensure that the company continues its aggressive growth.
Prior to joining Applause, Damian held senior positions at a wide range of companies, including Compete, 50 Lessons, Soundbridge, RxCentric and others. During this time, his responsibilities included project management and development, product marketing, as well as general marketing.

Paul Wagner

Paul Wagner is the CEO of Portland, Oregon based CloudEngage, a geospatial software engineering company focused on increasing retail revenues through enhanced website localization. He has worked in the geo-technologies space for nearly a decade.

Wagner earned his JD from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2000 and immediately began exploring opportunities in the burgeoning mobile software field.
